There is something about bottles of sparkling water that send shivers up my spine. It’s not the bottles as such, but the gassy contents that so offends. I find sparkling water- and that’s all brands, the Perrier and highland spring alike- very difficult to enjoy. It’s not a pleasant sensation to have an aggressively fizzy, and tasteless drink poured down your throat. It’s the combination of the fizz and the lack of flavour that I can’t stand. At least with fizzy drinks like coke and lemonade, you can actually taste something. Fizzy water is just a non-drink. Why would anyone opt for sparkling over still water? Understandably, sparkling water doesn’t flow from everyone’s taps so of course it’s harder to come by than the regular still variety, but still, if you need a drink to quench your thirst, fizzy water just doesn’t cut the mustard, though it may try. It leaves you feeling bloated, full and gassy rather than its flat cousin that should leave you quenched and satisfied. Some people adore it, just can’t get enough of the stuff, I just don’t understand those people. It’s an acquired taste apparently, but it’s certainly not mine. No I will never hop on board.
