Baccarat Basics
Apart from being originated from Middle Ages and being one of the most popular casino games in the United States and anywhere else in the world amongst the upper class, it is also one or the most unique and sophisticated games that anyone across the world can have a shot at and enjoy it as well. And to interest a gambler’s spirit within, the stakes of the game can go high - as high as a $1000 sometimes - though this can also send some people thinking twice before even entering the game and for those at many places stakes are as low as $5. Thereby, actually offering a space to encompass many persons , with varying preferences, within its ambit. This feature clearly adds to its ease and elegance.
Baccarat owes its origin from an Italian word baccara, which means “zero”, which also is the value, assigned to the face cards in the game. The game as is already mentioned started in middle Ages with people playing it with Tarot cards and eventually it evolved to take a closer shade of today in about 1940s. And in 1950s it spread to the regions of France where it came to be associated with royalty and novelty and it eventually starting spreading across Europe, America etc.
The basic object of the game is to draw two or three card hand that is closer to the number nine (as per the value assigned to the cards in the game which should be known before hand especially by a beginner at the game) than banker’s hand. Important point to note here is that the game is not at all difficult to learn but it is still advisable at the outset to know the general rules. Originally two cards are drawn and if the hand is in the range of six or nine then the odds are in favour of playing it on but if the hand is of five or less then a third card is drawn and as per the hand then one has, the future action is decided.
A peculiar quality of baccarat is that it can be found being played in a corner or a place, which is separate from the casino owing to the nature of the game. The game as is known is played by the rich and the noble - which adds glamour and fascination to it - and thus, attracts players attributing it a mysterious appeal. Many beginners at the game would like to try and avoid hitting the game directly in the casinos’ elegant surroundings and therefore, they may decide to try a hand or two at the online versions of the game and getting their basics about the very game in place. Also another advantage of playing it online first is that the stakes arc much lower than what you have when playing live at the casinos and thus, providing a space to learn as the player can afford to make mistakes.
If the online versions are still not able to quench the thirst for glamour associated with the game then one can try his day out in the casino where the atmosphere is quite valiant.
All in all the game does appear to be worth a try.

Alarm Systems & Automobile Tires?
What do alarm systems and automobile tires have in common? This may sound like a strange question to the untrained ear, but lend me yours and I will make sense of it.
The reason I mention car tires is that they are a necessity that most all of us have some experience purchasing, at least once in a while.
Even though we need good tires to keep our cars firmly on the road, when they are wearing out we often put the purchase off for a few weeks. If we are patient, a Saturday will eventually come along that we have no plans for, and we force ourselves to go to our local tire store.
Maybe it’s the one with the big giant marshmallow looking thing on the roof, or the shop down the road who seems to be giving away free franks, and has a racing car crew serving them, that gets us to stop.
If you are jumping the gun and think I’m correlating putting off the purchase of a necessity such as car tires with a necessity such as an alarm system you would be wrong. The first reason you would be wrong is because most people don’t see an alarm as a necessity, but as a luxury. Only after they have been burglarized, do they see an addition of an alarm system as something they need instead of want.
Do you know why they realize after the fact that they need one? Not just because they are upset that someone took the electronics. Not just because the gun that they considered the only alarm system they would ever need is missing, and god only knows whose hands it will end up in. Not even because they are freaked out knowing that some stranger was rifling through the underwear drawer. It is because this is the first time most people start to think about how this unfortunate event could have effected the lives of their loved ones and themselves, if they had been home or walked in on a burglary in progress.
What if my wife came home for lunch and walked in on them?
What if I came home from work and had my own gun pointed at me when I came in?
What if we were asleep while they entered, and how would that traumatize the family?
After asking ourselves these types of questions is when an alarm system becomes a necessity.
Assuming you do know that you need and want a system as part of your preventative security plan, and you do have researching one on your to do list, let’s consider how else an alarm system might have something in common with automobile tires.
When we go to buy our tires we often tell the salesman what size tire we need or what make and model our car is. They go to the computer screen and tell you “we have the Big Brand XTC 10’s for $45.00 each plus mounting and balancing” or ” The Joe Blows are really made by the same company and they are $5.00 less each” (Sound familiar?)
How often does the salesperson, take the time to explain things that are so important to your decision such as Load Range, Tread Wear, Rubber Composites, Tread Patterns and the Elements, Sidewall Strength, Speed Ratings, etc. If they did, you would not only know much more than you already do about tires, but you would most likely justify your choices and the expense with life- safety, as you should. You will also most likely buy your tires at that store the next time you need them, no matter what they are giving away down the street.
Would you believe that alarm systems are often sold the same way tires are.” We have, this one or that one, which do you prefer?” When making an important decision such as how a security system will fit into your lifestyle, please take the time to understand all of your options. The available differences in quality of all the devices you are considering for purchase is astounding, and will make a big difference in how happy you are with your choices. If you can’t find someone to explain all of these things to you, then you have not found the proverbial “perfect tire store”

Phoenix Residents Can Start Making Money by Opening a CD Account
In these troubled economic times, it is comforting to know that your money is safe and secure. We all like to relax at the end of the day and know that our money is still our money and will be for the foreseeable future. But if you are not sure how secure your money is right now, or if you are looking to put your money into an account that is a little more stable, you may want to consider opening a CD account. It is one of the best ways to ensure your money will continue to grow and will always be there for you when you need it.
CD accounts - or certificate of deposit accounts - are a little like savings accounts because they are usually insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and are almost completely risk-free (they are literally “money in the bank”). However, CD accounts are unlike saving accounts because when you open a CD, you are telling your local Phoenix bank or the credit union that you will not touch that money for the next three months, six months, one year, or five years. You’re telling the bank or the credit union to hold that money for you, and you won’t try to withdraw it. And because you are essentially investing in the bank or the credit union, the bank or the credit union will reward you with a high certificate of deposit rate, or interest rate. Then, when the CD matures, you can withdraw the money (and the accrued interest) without any penalty, or you can reinvest it with another CD, one with an even higher certificate of deposit rate (since the deposit is more substantial than the one you used to initially open the first CD).
One great aspect of the world today is the vast opportunities people have for investments. There are plenty of ways you can try to make your money grow. If you’d like to try something flashy or fancy, there is an investment opportunity for you. If you’d like something a little more conservative, be sure to check into a CD account today.

Craps Is A Superstitious Game
Are you a superstitious person? You know, the kind of person who won’t open an umbrella inside a house, won’t walk under a ladder and has to spin around three times when stepping over a crack in the pavement?
Here’s a list of some of the more common craps superstitions compiled by some of the great craps players. Incidentally, they believe in a lot of this nonsense too!
1. If the stickman changes, in the middle of a roll, a seven will follow.
2. If a cocktail waitress approaches the table, a seven will follow.
3. If the dice being thrown hits somebody’s money, a seven is likely.
4. If the dice being thrown hits the glass, a seven will appear.
5. If there’s too much chatter among the dealers, frequent sevens.
6. If the dice are thrown off the table, seven will be the next number up.
7. If new dice are requested, seven is likely to follow.
8. If someone yells out the number “7″, a seven will surely follow.
All of this may sound like a whole lot of nothing to you but sometimes you can be involved in an active game where the dice are passing a little too frequently. If you pay attention, you will discover that several of the superstitions are, in fact, occurring.
You’ll notice that the stickman changes a little too often, that instead of one cocktail waitress, the table now has two waitresses serving drinks and many other strange happenings that ultimately mean a seven is going to be thrown by the shooter.
Remember, you can always bring your bets down and wait until the next shooter. You can also turn your bets off, but if you do, don’t turn them back on, because if you do… a seven will follow!

A Game For All Seasons
An overall review of online casino software has led me to question the objective behind Microgaming’s constant release of new games and titles. Considering the fact that Microgaming Systems is one of the biggest and the leading software provider on the Internet, it is their game which have led to their award-winning reputation in the industry, but this does not explain the phenomenon that occurs every few months.
This occurrence to which I refer is the release of four to five different games from the Microgaming stable, which is rolled out to most of their hi-tech online casinos. The games are mostly Video slots, reel slot machines and Video poker and they add to the already-existing variety of games at these casinos. Fair enough, the profitability of new game launches is a great draw card but apart from that, why else would a perfectly acceptable range of games need to be constantly updated?
One reason behind this could be the change in times. Take for example, the greatly animated, highly exciting 5-reel Tomb Raider Video slot game, it was an excellent marketing tool for many of the casinos that carry this game and for players, it was a chance to really get up, close and personal with the infamous Ms. Lara Croft. Sure this might have added to the entertainment of the casinos and they might have gained access to new players who are seeking the thrill of living out of a “Croft adventure”. Apart from the great themes, cheesy music and awesome graphics - what else are these new games offering players that is so appealing?
If you think about it, one could ultimately be aiming for these games because they are new and are unchartered territory, thereby offering players a better chance at the Progressive jackpots, which is usually linked to these new games. Take for instance a recent occurrence at one of the Fortune Lounge Group’s casinos where a player won about US$1,100 from playing the newly released Deuces and Joker 50 Play Power Poker, and this was within the first few days of its launch at their casinos.
The flipside to this theory is that Microgaming is just trying to acquire people with different tastes and is applying a bevy of games as the remedy for not getting bored on their casino floors. If this is the case then where would a “child-ish” game like Munchkins fit in?
If this is really to be taken in context of the casino and entertainment market then I cannot clearly recommend a category, as this game is cute and cuddly and very easy to identify with if you’ve watched the Muppets and the like. It’s almost like having Sesame Street on reels and the paylines have quite funny sound effects for the different Scatter and Wild symbols. Granted, Munchkins is quite an interactive Video slot but apart from that, I cannot identify with the theme as an adult and that leads me to question who Microgaming is really trying to target?
Now this leads us back to our very first dilemma. In order for us to get to grips with the aim for all these new game releases, we would have to understand Microgaming’s ethos and that is to “always be fast and furious”. If this doesn’t smell like trying to keep up with consumer tends and a change in times, I don’t know what does, and that signals to me that the very reason why you will always find something new to try out when you visit their casinos. In other words as a customer why should we be the ones to shy away from diversity and variety when that’s what we shop around for all the time. So I’d suggest that you just sit back and enjoy all the fantastic choices because that’s what they’re made for.

Online Casino Bonuses Explained
Types Of Online Casino Bonuses
If you’ve ever considered playing at an online casino, you should be aware that the vast majority of them offer cash bonuses as an incentive to play. While there are some generous offers out there today, being made, it’s very important that you understand how casino bonuses work and understand the terms and conditions of the offer.
The No Deposit Bonus
Some online casinos offer players free cash with no deposit required. These can be a great way to get started playing and to get a feel for the games at an online casino, but be aware of the complete terms of a no deposit bonus. In some cases the casino will require you to register a credit card to claim the free cash. This doesn’t necessarily mean they are trying to steal funds from your card. There are reputable casinos who do this as a security measure to avoid bonus abuse and players claiming multiple accounts. It also gives the casinos a better chance of weeding out the bonus hunters from more serious players. At the same time, be aware of rogue casinos and do your homework before you sign up and play at any casino. Some casinos require you to make a small deposit in order to cash out your winnings from a no deposit offer. Some online casinos also require players to make a small deposit before cashing out winnings from a no deposit offer, again due to bonus abuse of other players. Wagering requirements and game restrictions often apply to this type of bonus.
The Cashable Matching Deposit Bonus
Many internet casinos offer a percentage match bonus when players make a deposit. These are pretty self-explanatory - for a 200% bonus, for example, you would deposit $100 and the casino will add another $200 to your account. These bonuses typically range anywhere from 10-250% or more. This type of bonus almost always requires the player to wager through the deposit and bonus a certain number of times and usually only certain games count towards the wagering requirements.
The Sticky Bonus
A sticky bonus is just that - it can never be cashed out. This may sound like a bad deal at first, but actually can be a great deal for a player. You can use the “money” from the bonus account to wager as much as you like. Even though the bonus itself stays put in your casino account, you will have more money available in your account to wager longer with that much more of a chance to hit a big jackpot or build up some good winnings at a table game like blackjack. We have seen some online casinos offer sticky bonuses that have been quite generous, in some cases over $300 and more.
Wagering Requirements
Wagering requirements can be rather high at many online casinos nowadays. Some casinos require you wager as much 20 times your deposit and bonus amount or more before cashing out. There was a time that you only had to wager through your deposit and bonus once before cashing out at an online casino! Due to the high costs of this type of promotion and bonus abuse, wagering requirements have been raised considerably at virtually all online casinos.
Note that in some cases sticky bonuses carry no wagering requirements - this can be a great deal if you come across this type of promotion.
Game Restrictions
In many cases only certain games count towards the wagering requirements of the bonus offer. It’s common to see Slots play count towards the wagering requirements. Games like Blackjack and Roulette are often excluded from the wagering requirements.
Always, ALWAYS read bonus terms and conditions.
You’ve downloaded the software, you’ve signed up and created your account and logged in. you’ve made your deposit and you’re ready to play. But do you really know what you’re getting into? As you can see there are many different kinds of bonuses and you need to know the wagering requirements, games restrictions and other terms and conditions when you play. Some online casinos will simply tell you that you need to but in some cases your winnings can be forfeited if you do not follow the promotional terms to the letter. So unless you’re only there for a good time and don’t care about your winnings, knowing the terms and conditions of a bonus offer is essential. If you are comfortable with a particular casino and it’s promotional bonus offer, you might as well claim the free cash. If you’re going to play anyway, you might as well accept the free money offer.
If you aren’t comfortable with requirements of a bonus offer, pick another casino to play, or consider simply depositing without claiming a bonus. Many online casinos offer better odds and payouts than Native American casinos or even Las Vegas casinos, so often you still are getting a good deal for your money. Also, nothing can compare with the comfort and convenience of gambling at home in your pajamas.

Fear: Extra Tasty Crispy or Original Recipe?
Fear is sorta like garlic. A little is good, but going overboard can put a real damper on a date, er, I mean life.
One of the best ways I’ve found to get to know someone is to ask what he/she is afraid of. If their answers include mimes, snakes, or ventriloquist dummies, then, WHAMMO! Conversation topic! If they answer stuff like failure, never finding love or rejection then you should run, not walk, and get as far away from this emotional vampire as possible. After all, you’re just getting to know someone, not settling down on Dr. Freud’s couch!
As all conversation and questions should be two-way, I have to admit one of my biggest fears: birds. Actually, that’s sorta glossing over the phobia. Nothing in the whole wide world terrifies me as much as the thought of being attacked by birds. Jerky-quick movements, sharp little beaks and scratchy claws are, in my humble opinion, all trademarks of the devil himself!
My fear of birds commenced when I was a wee lad of nine. Picture little Marcus, a recent transplant from suburbia to a rural Missouri farm. In my family’s attempt to prove our good intentions of being agriculturists, my parents got the bright idea of raising chickens. In retrospect, bad idea.
One of my daily chores was to go into the big, scary chickenhouse and collect the eggs-a task made more difficult by the fact the nests were slightly higher than eye-level with your average nine-year old little boy named Marcus. This meant I had to reach up into the nest and feel around for the presence of eggs.
One morning, I blindly stuck my hand into a nest and groped around for the next morning’s breakfast. Instead of cute little eggs, I found a couple of feathers which were attached to a wing which was attached to, what else?! A chicken! Disturbed by my intrusion, Chicken Not-So-Little stuck her head out and I came nose to beak with those beady little eyes and scratchy beak. I did what came natural-screamed bloody murder! Like a winged Tasmanian Devil, the bird blasted out of the nest and straight at my face. Her trajectory and my hysterics sent the other chickens into psycho mode and I had to fight my way to the chicken coop door, all the while hacking away at wings and beaks like a jungle explorer with a machete. After I finished hyperventilating and changed my Wranglers, I swore I’d never again set foot inside the chickenhouse-a vow that, to this day, I have kept.
If you’ve watched TV in the last, oh, five years, you’ve probably seen the show, “Fear Factor.” Ordinary, average sado-massacists admit their biggest phobia to the producers and the world. Then, as if they didn’t know it would happen, the contestants are made to face their biggest fear. Inevitably, someone ends up with snakes slithering over their body or spiders crawling across their face. And, the big question is: Why? And the big answer is: Money, of course!
With nothing short of sheer bribery, these whack jobs stare down their biggest fear in hopes of putting some moolah in their pocket. I say good for them! This is American capitalism at its best! Let’s pay people to get freaked out for other people’s amusement!
Still, I think a bigger motivation for overcoming fear shouldn’t be money, but a true desire to put a limiting belief behind us. Shakespeare coined the term, “Sink or swim” which is, of course, learning by immersion in the truest sense of the words! Would I overcome my bird phobia if I had to walk through the bird house at Busch Gardens? Probably not, but at least I would be staring that fear in the face, admitting it and then working to overcome it. It may not change the fear, but at least its an effort to put that limiting behavior to rest.
Own the fear. Admitting that you are frightened by something is the first step. Secondly, you must be willing to stand up to the fear and make yourself vulnerable to it. Once this happens, and you live through the experience, you have just empowered yourself to move past self-limiting beliefs. It doesn’t mean you’re cured for life, but it does allow you to take control of the phobia instead of the phobia controlling you. And, yes, of course, I have to practice what I preach, so the next time I’m at Busch Gardens, as tough as it’ll be, I’m going to walk through the bird house…but I’ll walk quickly!

Bad News for Poker Online
There has been some more unfortunate news about a victory for the anti-poker online crowd. As reported by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper, a lawyer in the U.s. state of Washington lost a campaign to make Washington state safe for casino and poker online players lost again on Monday. A state appeals court rejected Lee Rousso’s arguments that a 2006 law that forbids Internet gambling in the state violates the clause of the U.S. Constitution that gives the federal government the right to regulate interstate commerce, the newspaper reported.. Last May, a King County Superior Court judge also ruled against Rousso on a day that 70 online poker players rallied outside the courthouse. The unanimous decision by three judges of division I of the appeals court says that Rousso would have to show that policing Internet poker imposes excessive burdens and not worth the state’s commitment to regulating gaming.
While this is disheartening, there has also been some good news from around the world regarding the legalization of online poker. It is an epic battle between good and evil, and the evil that wants to ban online poker must not win. Let us hope it is our side that wins out.
